…The Top Five Signs That a DLC Should Have Just Been Free

Brought to you by Fedora Man

Well it finally April and you have to love how easy it is to open an article with the lines “so it’s finally whatever month we’re in right now”. It’s time for the next step in my great journey to earn money through a video game blog. Now I know you might be wondering “I thought you had billions! Were you lying to me?” The answer is of course, no. Stupid. Why would I make something like that up? But the difference between that money and the money I’ll earn on this site is I actually had to do work to earn it, unlike my corporation where I really don’t do any work at all. I can show all my friend “yeah this is the ten dollars I earned THROUGH WORK!” and if they say that they also have a job and have made more money, I’ll pull out my emergency one million dollars that I always keep stashed in my pants and laugh at them, probably while rubbing the money all over myself. Call of Duty 4… 2? GH5 and new Tony Hawk's also confirmed.

by NovaSyx on Dec.27, 2008, under Developers, News, Nintendo DS, PC, PS3, Wii, xbox 360

Activision have just announced at an in-game Ad Conference that the sixth iteration of the massively successful Call of Duty franchise will be a sequel to Modern Warfare, released November 2007. Activision also announced the ingeniously named Guitar Hero 5, and an as yet unnamed new Tony Hawk’s game.

Previously Infinity Ward have confirmed that the sequel to World at War would not be in the hands of Treyarch, but it also – somewhat more thankfully – confirms that the sequel wouldn’t be the rumoured Sci-Fi game many of us were fearing. It was also dated for Fall 2009 (Autumn to us over here in Europe.)

Details on the whole were scarce, with the only real information being about the next Tony Hawk’s game.“You’re not going to be playing this game with a controller in your hands,” said the company. The new Tony Hawk’s arrives on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS by the end of fiscal year 2010.

Call of Duty: World at War Collector's Edition owners get twice the XP for a week, starting December 5

by mulmeltia on Nov.28, 2008, under Consoles, News, xbox 360

For those of us who managed to score a Collector’s Edition of Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War, then you might want to know that you’re one of the privileged few who will be able to score a double XP rate come December 5, all the way to the 12th. That’s one whole week of double experience, and applies to both the Xbox 360 version and the PC version. PC players can simply play in any server available to take advantage of the modified XP rate, while Xbox 360 players must register their game first and then play in the Officer’s Club playlists.

While we can certainly appreciate the good gesture, it’s a bit off-putting that only those who bought the Collector’s Edition can avail of the promo. One can only hope that a similar event where those who purchased the normal retail edition of the game can participate. After all, they paid for the game too.
