Dead Space on the Wii
by Mace on Feb.06, 2009, under Developers, News, Publishers, Wii
EA is going to release Dead Space for the Wii. Word of this has probably spread like wildfire and there might be very few who haven’t heard this news, but there is no news like good news! Dead Space was released for PS3 and XBox 360 October of last year and the decision to put it on the Wii means that the developer and publisher feels Isaac Clarke and the Necromorphs aren’t done yet. Does this mean the sales for both consoles didn’t meet their expectations? Probably! Should we expect additional content? Who knows!
While details are slim and all that has been said from EA is that there will be a Dead Space for the Wii it’s a safe bet that Dead Space will use the Wii remote’s pointer and allow the player to get even more precision in dismembering the horrors above the USG Ishimura. Considering the nature of Dead Space and the core gameplay similarities, over the shoulder shooter, it shares with Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 (which was also released later on the Wii) it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume it might play much like Resident Evil 4: Wii edition.
Last year EA demonstrated they were a little more than another uninspiring, sequel factory when they released two new intellectual properties, Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge. With some sort of awareness of quality within the company there’s hope that Dead Space for Wii won’t be a diluted port.
"Easy to Pick Up, Tough to Master." The Degeneration of Fun.

For those of you that played it, what did you dislike most about Twilight Princess? Was it the bloom and brown that’s run the gamut of every title last year? Was it the completely useless items that muddled the reason as to why anyone would even call it a Legend of Zelda game? Was it the mind-numbing linearity and lack of side-quests outside of collect-a-thons? Or, perhaps, was it the lack of difficulty?
Well, chances are it was all of those things combined, but the whole easy-mode thing probably stuck out the most. There’s a mass of games falling prey to this idea, theory, and concept that games need to be far more accessible to help penetrate the market more. Developers around the world are doing research groups in order to meet the demands of people who will never play their games anyway.

Five Great Replacements for the Holiday Blockbusters
by kamatacci on Dec.11, 2008, under Consoles, PC, PS2, PS3, XBox, xbox 360

The Holidays are here, and all the worthwhile game companies have made sure that their biggest blockbusters are on the shelves just in time for Christmas, Hanukah, Ramadan (we are a few months late, but still), or for whatever reason people may want to buy games for. However, biggest doesn’t necessarily mean best, and it definitely doesn’t mean original. If you can’t get that special someone the game they want, here are a few great substitutes. Or maybe you can’t get enough of your favorite game? Or maybe you are just too full of yourself to play the mainstream games, even though you really want to. Or maybe you rather buy five games for the price of one. Whatever the reason, here they are.
