Steam Sale Saturday 31/09 – Rockstar Complete Collection
by NovaSyx on Jan.31, 2009, under Developers, News, PC, Steam Sale
This weekend, get your hands on some good old fashioned murdering and street racing in the Rockstar Collection. Everything inside is also separately discounted too Bar GTA1, GT2 and Wild Metal, so if you’re just looking for your GTA4 fix then look no further because this is probably the cheapest you’re going to get it, and with the recent patch stated to have increased performance somewhat significantly, it’s unlikely there’ll be a better time.
Just for the unsure the collection includes GTA1, GTA2, GTA3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA IV, Manhunt, Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Midnight Club 2 and Wild Arms.
It’s not all of it – I know, but for the low low price of £38.49/$69.99/€69.99 it’s hard to not buy it.. except for our European bretheren, you might want to find a good trusted friend from either the US or the UK to gift it to you and you send them the money.. Steam is kind of skewed against the europeans at the moment.
Video Game Violence

The following is a research paper I wrote for my final project in English.
Violent videogames have sparked controversy for the last 40 years, but do they really influence the people who play them? There has been an ongoing debate about this subject since the early 1990s. In this essay, I hope to shed some light on both sides of the argument as well as where I stand on the issue. First, let’s look at where this all started, and the history following that.
Violence in videogames has been an issue since 1976 with a video game called “Death Race”. The game was inspired by the 1975 film “Death Race 2000”, which had a cult following. The basic game play consisted of using a steering wheel and gas pedal to run over as many people as you can. When it was released, only about five hundred were made, and was banned just about everywhere. This was the first instance of violence in videogames being an issue.

Midnight on Grove St.

A celebration, and a well deserved one. The young man who had been the catalyst for all the madness of the past few weeks had achieved everything he set out to do, rebuilding his family and building a strong legacy. Never again would harm come to them, even in his absence. But how had he done it? It seemed even when the odds were impossibly stacked against him, he always found a way through. He should have been dead by now, although he seemed to be the only one who noticed the way he had been seemingly whisked away from the cold grip of death in the countless gunfights he had been caught amidst. How many lives had he taken? He’d lost count, it felt like he’d been the only one to walk away from battles with entire hoods. No man could accomplish such feats alone, and for such assistance a price must always be paid. As the party continued around him, few would have noticed a solemn calm falling on his face, and a truly fearful look in his eye. “Carl, where are ya off to now?” his sister called to him, noticing him heading away from the revelers. “Fittin’ to hit the block, see what’s happening” was his only reply as he strode purposefully out of the door.
Carl “CJ” Johnson was never seen or heard from again after that fateful night. At least, that’s what people believed, for the unfortunate souls walking late at night who caught a glimpse of something on the road they couldn’t quite make out, and yet made every muscle in their body scream at them to run until they passed out would never make that connection.
