Write for Us
So, you want to write for Giant Enemy Blog? We’re always accepting articles from everybody, so go sign up and start writing today.
How to get your articles published
After writing an article and submitting it, it gets dumped into our queue. We can’t publish every article we receive, so try to put some thought into what you write, okay? Here are a few guidelines to increase your chances of getting published:
- Good spelling and grammar is always a plus.
- Keep it PG-13. No profanity-laden tirades. That means dont use bad words like F@CK or SH!T and take it easy on H3LL
- Fanboy rants will usually be thrown out. Try to be civil.
- Try to offer a unique writing style or viewpoint. Stand out from the crowd.
- Articles should be more than 400 words
- Don’t plagiarize. I check all submitted articles with Copyscape, and if you’re caught submitting plagiarized content your account will be deleted.
When you’re ready to submit your article for approval, click the ‘SUBMIT FOR REVIEW’ button, not the ‘Save’ button. Saving it just saves it as a draft, but publishing it sends it to me.
Note: When you submit an article to Giant Enemy Blog, we retain full ownership of it. We reserve the right to publish, modify, or delete it at any time without warning. You may, of course, publish your own articles on your own blog/website/forum/whatever, but I’d appreciate it if you ended it with “Written for Giant Enemy Blog” or something along those lines.
Videos
So, you wanna make a video review? That’s great and all, but you’ll have to really show some talent in order to get it published. There are thousands of game reviews on Youtube, so you’ll have to prove to us that yours is worth paying for.
Also, a few things to note:
- Zero Punctuation is great. Nearly everybody can agree with that. Don’t copy it.
- Please edit your own videos and focus on sound quality.
- I’d appreciate it if you slapped our watermark on the video, or at least put a slide at the beginning and end that says “Featured on (or made for) GiantEnemyBlog.com”.
- You will be paid after every video published (instead of every third). Rates depend on quality and duration.
- Please host your video on Youtube (or a similar service) for now.
